Another Killer Robot

I imagine the guy with the gun is attending some kind of pro-gun, pro-Trump, right-wing, fascist rally somewhere out in the woods, when there is a noise in the bush. Expecting to find spying libtards, or government stooges, this guy goes to investigate. He hears rustling close by in the bushes and draws his pistol. A killer robot arises from the bushes. Startled, the guy fires his handgun at the robot with no effect. The robot says "No guns" and vaporizes the gun, along with the guys hand. The robot identifies the assault rifle on the guy's back as a secondary threat, but since he can't do much with one hand, it is about to spare him and move on, until it notices the MAGA hat...

Winter Sketch

With winter quickly approaching, and in eager anticipation of the holidays, I decided to do a pen and ink and marker sketch of an idea that I have had in my head for a while.  I love that late afternoon light in the fall, just before the sun goes down, when the tops of trees and buildings are bathed in an orange glow, and the base of the building is in a blue or purple shadow.

I wanted to incorporate that into a sketch of a fantasy couple greeting people as they arrive at heir home, a stone tower, to join with them in a winter feast.

Here is the black and white sketch:

Here is the colored version:

I may want to do this as a series showing the interior of the tower hall with the festivities in full swing.

New Sketch for Pyewackett Sets Sail

A new color, marker sample illustration for the last page of my wife Amy's story Pyewackett Sets Sail. It shows the two main characters, the cabin boy Thomas, (grown up and a captain of his own vessel) and his friend, the cat Pyewackett, presiding over a litter of his great grand-kittens.
We have the book completely dummied, and have submitted it to a third publisher, Erdman's Books for Young Readers, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Here's hoping!
